What are Orchids?
The Orchidaceae commonly known as Orchids are a diverse and widespread family of flower plants, with blooms that are often colorful and luxurious. Along with the Asteraceae, they are one of the two largest families of flowering plants, the Orchid family have many distinct and vibrant plants.
Out of all flowering plants the Orchids are considered to be most evolved. An orchid is a flowering plant that exhibits a unique reproductive strategy. All orchids have both the male and female reproductive structures fused into a single structure commonly called a "column" unlike most plants that have “pistils” and “stamens”. Many orchid flowers are simply stunning in several ways. They come in almost every color, shape, size, and many of them last for weeks if not months.
